Sandford G. Allen
1799 - 1865
Sandford G. Allen was born in 1799 in Warren County, North Carolina, the son of Charles Allen, Jr. and Pattie Jenkins. He married Nancy Allen on 29 May 1829 in Warren County, North Carolina. Sanford & Pattie were likely cousins. Sandford had originally gone to Tennesse with his family and returned to Warren County and married Pattie. All their children were born in Tennessee.
Sanford died about May 1865 in Williamson County, Tennessee. His estate records will be given on the next page. His & Pattie's children were:
1. Mordicai Allen born 1830 in Williamson County, Tennessee. He died after 1860 in Williamson County a single person.
2. Mary V. Allen born 1831 in Williamson County, Tennessee. She is 19 years old in the 1850 census and single. She lives with her parents.
3. Charles Wesley Allen born 1833 in Williamson County, Tennessee. He married Sarah Josephine Barr on 16 October 1852 in Williamson County. He died after 1880.
4. Elizabeth O. Allen born in 1835 in Williamson County, Tennessee. She married M. P. Nason on 26 July 1863 in Williamson County.
5. Samuel Jordan Allen born in February 1838 in Williamson County, Tennessee. He married Mary Ann White on 31 August 1859 in Williamson County. Mary Ann was born in March 1842.See next chapter.
6. Martha A.J. Allen born in 1839 in Williamson County, Tennessee. She married Samuel B. Orten on 2 February 1865 in Williamson County.
7. Jane F. Allen born in 1841 in Williamson County, Tennessee. She married Thomas J. Allen on 20 November 1860 in Williamson County.
8. Boling N. Allen born in 1845 in Williamson County, Tennessee. He married Ann Waller on 11 March 1869 in Williamson County.
9. Adelia Allen born 1847 in Williamson County, Tennessee. She married S. L. West ? on 28 December 1871 in Williamson County.
10. James S. Allen born 1852 in Williamson County, Tennessee. He married Lydia A. Brown on 12 August 1878 in Williamson County.
11. Nancy Allen born 1843; died October 1844.
