Charles Allen, Jr. was born 8 March 1758 in Culpeper County, Virginia. He was the son of Charles Allen, Sr. and his wife Anne Vincent. His parents moved to Old Bute County, North Carolina, which in 1779 became Warren County, North Carolina.

Charles was a Revolutionary War soldier under his father Captain Charles Allen, Sr. He lived long enough to apply for a pension for his Revolutionary service. It will be given at the end of this family page. His number was S2900.

On 9 September 1781 Charles married Martha " Pattie " Jenkins in Warren County, North Carolina. In 1819 they moved from Warren County, North Carolina to Williamson County, Tennessee. They remainded here the remainder of their lives.

Charles Allen, Jr. made his will in Williamson County, Tennessee. It is in Will Book 9, Page 37. It was proved at the February Term of Court 1848. In the 1820 census Charles and his family are under Samuel Allen, who was his son.

Charles and Pattie Allen are buried at Allen Cemetery, Civil District # 5, Williamson County, Tennessee. Charles died 28 January 1848 and Patti died 18 November 1849.

Their children were:

1. Charles Allen III born c 1783 in Warren County, North Carolina. He married Mary C. Turnstall in 1819 in Warren County, North Carolina. He died in 1840 in Williamson County, Tennessee.

2. John Allen born c 1785 in Warren County, North Carolina. He married before 1819 and died before 1848 in Williamson County, Tennessee.

3. James (O.K.?) Allen born 1 November 1787 in Warren County, North Carolina. He married Mary Stark on 11 July 1812 in Warren County. He died 16 June 1840 in Williamson County, Tennessee.

4. Daughter born c 1790. Probably died young.

5. Samuel P. Allen born c 1794. He shows in the 1860 census as a single man.

6. Sandford G. Allen born in 1799 in Warren County, North Carolina. He marred 29 May 1829 to Nancy Allen in Warren County, North Carolina. See next page.

7. Hannah Allen born c 1800-10. She married 6 April 1837 to John W. Brantley in Williamson County, Tennessee.
