James Hawley born c1610 and wife Ann born 1615 were my 7th Great Grandparents.
They came to Virginia in 1641. James died c1678 in Northumberland County, Va.
Their children were:

1. Ann - born before 1641 2. Alice - born before 1641 3. Frances - born before 1641 4. Henry - born c1643 5. Edward - born c 1645 died 1680 Westmoreland Co. Va. 6. Mary born c1647-50 ; married Jacob Lucas.

Henry Holley I was born c1643 in Isle of Wight Co. Virginia. He married Mary __?__
c1673. Henry died c1718 in Stafford County, Virginia. Their children were:

1. Henry Holley II, born c1675 2. Edward Holley, born c1677-1702 3. William Holley, born c1680 4. Sarah Holley, born c1685-6; married William Harrison __Sarah died 1778 in Fauquier Co., Virginia

Henry Holley II was born c1675 in Westmoreland County, Va. and wife, Mary. In
1710 Henry had a Land Grant of 330 acres on Occaquan Main Run of Quanticott in
Stafford County, Virginia. In 1731 Prince William County was formed from Stafford
and his land was then in the new county of Prince William.

His children were:

Thomas Holley was born c1710 in Stafford County ,Virginia (now Prince William
County). His wife is unknown. Thomas left Virginia about 1740 and came into North Carolina, where he lived for several years before moving on to Orangeburg District, South Carolina. Due to the destruction of the Orangeburg records most of his children are unknown. The known children were:

James Holley was born c1750 exact place unknown, but married in South Carolina c1773. His wife is unknown. He had only 3 sons. James Holley died in Newberry County, South Carolina c1829. His children were:

	1. James Holley, Jr. B1774 - moved to Lowndes County, Alabama. __Died 1850's 2. John Holley, born 1785 - Edgefield District, S. C. 3. Thomas Holley, born 1790 Edgefield Dist. S. C. Died after 1860 __Pickens Co., South Carolina.

John Holley was born in 1785 in Edgefield District, South Carolina. He married Rosannah Waters, daughter of Col. Thomas Waters about 1807. John and Rosannah lived in Newberry County, South Carolina until 1829 when they purchased the Holley - Waters Ferry on the Saluda River. They moved across the Saluda into Edgefield County, South Carolina (now Saluda County). The ferry was purchased from the heirs of Philemon "Ferry Phil" Waters, a brother of Rosannah Waters Holley.

Rosannah died about 1856. John Holley died 23 September 1861. Both are buried in the old Holley - Waters Cemetery on the banks of the Saluda River in now Saluda County, South Carolina.

Rosannah Holley born 18 November 1815, died 1842. Married John J.  __Langford. 5. Philemon Waters Holley, born 1818. In 1850 he was in Warren Co.,  __Mississippi. He married Mary Leightsey 6. Daughter - born 1820-25 - died 1840-50 7. Samuel Farrow Waters Holley, born c1820; died 4 November1888 in  __Henderson Co., Texas 8. Daniel DeWalt Holley, born 24 November 1822; died 5 June1899,  __Edgefield Co., South Carolina. He married Rosannah Leightsey. 9. William D. Holley, born c1826-28. Named in his fathers will.Incomplete.

David Mark Holley was born in 1810 in Newberry District, South Carolina.
He married 1. Mary________. By 1840 he lived in Butler County, Alabama with his Waters cousins. By 1850 he lived in Attala County, Mississippi. He had these children by his first wife Mary :

David Mark Holley married 2. Elizabeth Jane McBride in 1860, the daughter of James McBride and Martha "Patsy" Cain. Elizabeth Jane was born in 1842 in South Carolina. Their children were:

8. James Madison Holley, born 5 November 1861, Attala Co., Mississippi 9. Mary Jane Holley, born 1864. She married Bob Red.

David Mark Holley died 1865. Jane Holley died 1870's. Both are buried in Suggs Graveyard, Attala County, Mississippi. Suggs was an early pioneer cemetery.

James Madison Holley was born 5 November 1861 in Attala County, Mississippi. He married Martha Elizabeth Virginia Burks in 1888. She was the daughter of John Wesley Burks and Martha Jane Summerlin. Their children were:

1. Letha Elizabeth Holley, born 11 April 1889 Died September 1889 2. James Thomas Holley, born 2 June 1890. He married 1st  __Elizabeth Cooksey. 2nd Lelia Criswell, He died November 1943 in  __Greenville, Mississippi. 3. William Madison Holley, born 2 June 1890; died August 1890 4. Lydia (Lettie) Holley, born 20 February 1892. Died June 1962. __Never married. 5. John Wesley Holley, born 28 January 1894; died 12 March 1923, Attala __Co., Mississippi. Never married. 6. Grover Cleveland Holley, born 14 February 1896; died 10 June1954. __Never married. 7. Rosey Etta Holley born 5 January 1898; died 25 November1978 in __Jackson, Tennessee. She is buried at Greenville, Mississippi. She married __Walter McBride. 8. Sam B Holley, born 22 December 1900 in Madison County, __Mississippi; died 30 May 1980 in Danville, Indiana; buried __Kosciusko, Mississippi. 9. Ephriam Holley, born 31 October 1904 in Madison County, __Mississippi; died 18 March 1963 in Washington County, Mississippi.  __He married Lucille Moore. 10. George Mark Preston Holley, born 26 November 1907 in Madison  __County, Mississippi; died 28 August 1963. He is buried at Rocky Hill __Cemetery, Madison County, Mississippi.  __He married l. James Madison Holley died November 1921 and is buried at Rocky Hill Church, Madison County, Mississippi. Martha Burks Holley died 1 February 1953 and is buried Greenville, Mississippi.
