William Asbury Morgan & Martha Clarinda Wilson
William Asbury Morgan was born 15 January 1843 in DeKalb County, Georgia. He was the son of Andrew Jackson Morgan ( 1818 - 1889 ) and his wife Elizabeth Burns Bramlett ( 1824 - 1898 ) He married 9 March 1862 in Choctaw County, Mississippi to Martha Clarinda Wilson. She was the daughter of Austin Jiles Wilson and Mandy Gilmore. Mandy died at Martha's birth and she was raised by an aunt.
William served in the Civil War and was taken prisoner at Vicksburg, Mississippi on 4 July 1863. After the war he lived in Choctaw County many years. He moved to southern Attala County ca 1890.
Their children were:
1. Henrietta Morgan born 6 August 1864: died 3 August 1865.
2. Sarah Elizabeth Morgan born 17 September 1866. She married G.C. Monroe.They lived in Sunflower Co., Mississippi. She died in 1942 from an auto accident.
3. Mary Jane Morgan born 24 January 1869: died before the 1870 census.
4. John Lilburn Morgan born 24 January: died 13 January 1957 at Kosciusko, Mississippi.
5. Thomas Edmond Morgan born 20 May 1873 in Choctaw County. He married 5 October 1893 in Attala County, Mississippi to Narcissa Emaline Hanna. She was the daughter of George James Hanna and his 2nd wife Margaret Ann Elizabeth Sanders. Edmond died 13 April 1952 and Narcissa died 30 October 1962 at Kosciusko, Mississippi. Both are buried in the Kosciusko City Cemetery.
6. Georgia Ann Morgan born 1 August 1875 in Choctaw County, Mississippi. She married Esca Dillard Wright. She died 18 July 1952 at Kosciusko, Mississippi.
7. William Asbury Morgan, Jr. born 27 February 1878. He married Amma Bessie Gober on 28 October 1906. He died in 1971 in Kosciusko, Mississippi.
8. Mattie Talulah Morgan born 28 October 1881. She married C. A. Brown ca 1927-28. He disappeared about 1930 and was never heard from again. Mattie died in 1975 and is buried at Kosciusko, Mississippi. She had no children.
